Lindy has served as President of the Dental Center since 1998. She oversees the treatment of over 20,000 patients per year. She takes great care in offering assistance to the underserved, and is the foundation behind her seeking the intitial grant from the Toledo Community Foundation to create the Dental Resource Center with the collaboration of 7 community partners.
The Dental Resource Center's 7 community partners include: Head Start, Lucas County Family Council (Help Me Grow), Toledo Public School Early Childhood Educaiton Program, Neighborhood Helath Association, Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, Prescribed Pediatric Center, and the St. Vincents/Mercy & Childrens Hospital.
Lindy supervises the operation of the Dental Resource Center and its staff. The goal of the Dental Resource Center is to serve 1,000 unduplicated children and their families each year. In addition, the Dental Resource Center will serve approximately 200 non-dental health care professionals and social workers each year through educational support.
The project has six components: the establishment of a Dental Resource Center, case management, family recruitment and referral, professional dental care services, parent education, and professional education. These are all designed to improve or maintain the oral health of children ages birth through five.
