Dental Center Services
Each year, thousands of low-income children and adults receive routine dental care at the Dental Center of NW Ohio with the assistance of our helpful and friendly staff. Through funding from the United Way, an Ohio Department of Health grant and individual donations, these services can be offered to the community.
Our services range from simple cleanings to emergency extractions with a Mobile Services Division that can reach patients who cannot travel to our facility. We have a dedicated staff of dentists, hygienists and dental assistants, as well as a courteous reception staff always ready to greet you with a smile.
Education
The Dental Center provides oral health education to the school systems. We visit schools and teach young children about proper brushing and the importance of healthy teeth.
Daily home dental care and regular 6-month visits to the dentist are important. Children's teeth should be checked as early as 1 year of age. Many dental problems (some very painful) can be prevented if discovered early enough.
Untreated dental disease can lead to: pain, infection, unnecessary tooth loss, low self-esteem, poor work or school performance, and in some cases, the inability to secure employment. From pre-school age children with severe decay to growing numbers of older adults on limited incomes, the need for the Dental Center's community education and dental services continues to grow.
