David is a food, wine and travel writer, cookbook author, cooking teacher, and TV journalist. He co-anchored In Food Today, on the national Food Network; host/chef of Taste, a Food Network cooking show devoted to teaching the principles of good taste in food and wine. Taste was nominated in ‘96 by the James Beard Foundation as Best National TV Cooking Show; New York Times praised Taste, noting "He has reconceived the idea of what a cooking show can be." David also appears on a wide range of tv shows on other networks —most notably he is a frequent guest on NBC’s acclaimed Today Show.

David was a Contributing Editor and New York Restaurant Critic to Gourmet magazine from ‘95-’99. Prior to Gourmet, he was Contributing Food Editor and Restaurant Critic for Departures (American Express’ deluxe magazine for platinum card holders).

David’s articles about food, wine and travel-including hundreds of original recipes-have appeared in The New York Times, Newsday, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Harper’s Bazaar, House Beautiful, Business Week, Metropolitan Home, New York Daily News, New York Observer, Wine Spectator, Cigar Aficionado, San Jose Mercury News, Diversion, 7 Days, Gastronome, Video Review, among
other publications.

David is the co-author of Red Wine with Fish: The New Art of Matching Wine with Food; author of The Dean & DeLuca Cookbook, David Rosengarten Entertains, and It’s All American Food. He is currently at work on several cookbook projects and teaches wine/cooking classes on many subjects while traveling frequently throughout the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia, where he writes and lectures on a wide range of culinary and enological topics. He holds a doctorate in dramatic literature from Cornell University and resides in New York City.
