Mobile Services

   Thanks to a United Way grant in 1986, the Dental Center was able to create a mobile services unit.  A licensed dentist, dental hygienist, and dental assistants provide needed dental care including cleanings, examinations, fillings, extractions, and denture services.

   The mobile unit visits over 60 long-term care nursing home facilities on a regular basis.  The mobile services unit also provides dental services to the homebound.

   All treatment is provided by a Dental Center licensed dentist, dental hygienist, and dental assistant.  Mobile services include:

• Dental oral exams with cancer screening every 6 months
• Prophylactic cleaning of teeth every 6 months and x-rays, as needed
• Professional cleaning of dentures and partials, including inscribing resident's names on the prosthetics
• Fillings
• New dentures
• Denture relining
• Extractions
