The OHKC program goal is to train and educate children through age 18 in the skills, techniques and importance of home oral health habits and ongoing professional dental care. Our program is hands on and completely free, we bring all needed materials.The program consists of the following modules:
- Brushing and flossing - Role of the Dentist and Dental Hygienist - Nutrition & Poor Oral Health - Sports and Mouth guard - Tobacco and Smokeless Tobacco - Oral Piercings - Careers in Dentistry
The Dental Center can also provide education to adults, your employees, parenting groups, nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities initially funded the program in 2007 with a $300,000 grant.
As of March 2011, OHKC has educated 18,675 children in Northwest Ohio!
